Automation

Transforming manual and repetitive deployment into an automated process

Product

Amazon UEM console

Project timeline

6 months

Role

UX Designer

Amazon unified endpoint management(UEM) console - an internal platform that provides unified, secure solutions for system engineers, device administrators, and ITS teams to manage Amazon corporate devices and perform complex operational tasks efficiently.

The problem

โ€œAs Amazon devices volume steadily increased, the deployment process became increasingly inefficient and slow.โ€

about 20 - 40 admin hours per month wasted on low-value, repetitive manual steps.

Project goal

The goal of this project was to eliminate repetitive deployment steps and reduce the 20โ€“40 admin hours wasted on manual rollout work by automating the deployment process, so users could focus on more critical device management tasks.

My responsibilities

In this project, I own end-to-end UX design as the solo UX designer, partnering closely with PMs, SDEs, and system engineers to drive rapid delivery from concept through launch.

Program manager

I started from the early definition stage, conducted user interviews, and ran multiple rounds of user testing to validate and refine the design direction. I ultimately delivered more than 10 user flows and custom components for the pipeline MLPโ€™s unique use cases, and also did the icon design for this new feature.

Impact

My design transformed a repetitive assignment workflow into a single-step experience, significantly improving deployment efficiency and user satisfaction. It also validated the value of automation, giving the team confidence to continue investing in this direction

01

Reduced manual rollout steps from 8+ โ†’ 1

A fragmented 8+ steps manual rollout into a single pipeline configuration flow

02

User satisfactions increased

Received strong positive feedback from admins on usability and clarity

03

Established organizational confidence

Built confidence on the team to keep investing in automation feature and expand to other OS in future
